Staffing- a. We currently produce magazines(city and regional magazines, short run, etc.) for 20+ publishers. The work required in this RFP fits into our current capabilities very well. The current account manager for the Sunny Isles Beach work,Osi Rubal, handles the magazine production work we do for the Walt Disney Company. This work is extremely high quality work.Osi understands how to manage production for our largest and most demanding clients. The staff includes: i. Darryl Wiggins, EVP Corporate Sales 38 years in the print industry ii. Osi Rubal, account manager, 20+years of account management iii. Jim Gross, Pre-Press Director, 35+years in pre-press iv. Janet Arteaga, Plant Manager,30+years in printing v. Segundo Lopez, Pressroom Manager,30+years of press experience vi. Chris Seruga,COO,32+years in printing(Contracts, etc.) vii. Helena De la Torre,Corporate Controller 20+years at Colonial Press(invoicing) 4. Approach/Methodology- a. Koday Prinergy/Insite workflow with Colorflow Pro. Prinergy is the most widely used prepress workflow worldwide. The PDF based workflow will Preflight and process files uploaded through Insite and report all file warnings and information via client selective actions in lnsite. These preflight, refine and color management processes are fully customizable per client if necessary. Client Review, Review OK and Final Approval is useful for clients with multiple individuals who must be part of the approval process b. Being a commercial plant, production planning/scheduling is a very large piece of how we manage our available capacity. The planning process depends on what a project entails. An example is if it is a press product then no bindery is involved. If the project involves bindery,we would need to incorporate time for possible folding, stitching,or perfect binding. We currently use yearly and monthly calendars to input projects that have frequency or projects that are one shot in frequency. Having a wide format, high speed Goss Sunday 3000 press allows for us to look at capacity and work load from a different point of view than most printers. The flexibility to move projects between the Goss Sunday press and either of the other two Man Roland presses allows for us to offer maximum flexibility to our clients. Projects sometimes come in late or have the need for changes. These delays can be frustrating if the print vendor does not offer a balance of options to meet ever changing needs. 0 c. A strategic CAPEX plans was started approximately eight years ago.The management team evaluate the current marketplace and made projections as to how the company would best service their current customer base and offer an increasingly stronger value proposition. Two years ago we purchased a Goss Sunday 3000 press with full robotic pallet building. This is the most technologically advanced Goss Sunday press in the country. It was built at 75" across the web and was customized for commercial work. Running at over 100,000 impression per hour, this press doubled the capacity of Colonial Press. This press required an investment of over$15M.This is quite significant for a company that has revenues at approximately$39M. In 2018 the CAPEX program continued as we added bindery equipment to help keep up with the additional press capacity. The future is very bright and a second Goss Sunday 3000 press is planned for the near future d. Environmental Sustainability: i. Engaged environmental engineers to provide an energy baseline audit. ii. Installation of a reverse osmosis water facility to internally generate our own fountain solutions and distilled water for use in the facility. iii. Decommissioning of all Freon throughout the facility, replaced with single chilling unit. iv. Upgraded our pollution control systems to obtaining 98.8%clean air discharge. v. Implementation of an integrated waste recovery system to recover and recycle all waste paper in our manufacturing processes. vi. Ongoing successful audits for our FSC and SFI chain of custody certifications vii. Acquisition of two new 200 hp compressor with Variable Speed Drive providing an annual electrical savings of 15% viii. Upgraded transformers to reduce energy usage 15% e. Quality Assurance-Quality synopsis document attached i. Our QMS is modeled after iso 9001:2000 standards. Focused on continuous improvement of processes and procedures. Focused on quality assurance of what we produce. Escalation starts with the account manager and then includes the EVP of Corporate Sales. The next step is directly with the owner,Jorge Gomez. f. Disaster Recovery The purpose of this business continuity plan is to prepare Colonial Press International in the event of extended service outages caused by factors beyond our control(e.g., natural disasters, man-made events),and to restore services to the widest extent possible in a minimum time frame. All Colonial Press International sites are expected to implement preventive measures whenever possible to minimize operational disruptions and to recover as rapidly as possible when an incident occurs. The plan identifies vulnerabilities and recommends necessary measures to prevent extended voice communications service outages. It is a plan that encompasses all Colonial Press International system sites and operations facilities. Scope This is a business continuity plan, not a daily problem resolution procedures document. Plan objectives o Serves as a guide for the Colonial Press International recovery teams. o References and points to the location of critical data. o Provides procedures and resources needed to assist in recovery. o Identifies vendors and customers that must be notified in the event of a disaster. o Assists in avoiding confusion experienced during a crisis by documenting, testing and reviewing recovery procedures. o Identifies alternate sources for supplies, resources and locations. o Documents storage, safeguarding and retrieval procedures for vital records. Assumptions o Key people(team leaders or alternates)will be available following a disaster. o A national disaster such as nuclear war is beyond the scope of this plan. o This document and all vital records are stored in a secure off-site location and not only survive the disaster but are accessible immediately following the disaster. o Each support organization will have its own plan consisting of unique recovery procedures, critical resource information and procedures. Disaster definition o Any loss of utility service(power, water),connectivity(system sites),or catastrophic event (weather, natural disaster, vandalism)that causes an interruption in the service provided by o Colonial Press International operations. The plan identifies vulnerabilities and recommends measures to prevent extended service outages. Recovery teams Emergency management team(EMT) Disaster recovery team(DRT) IT technical services(IT) 5. Cost of Services-Attachment A 6. Samples-(Enclosed) 7.
