A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE EXPENDITURE
OF BUDGETED FUNDS WITH CHRISTMAS DESIGNERS.COM FOR
THE PURCHASE OF HOLIDAY DECORATIONS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED FOURTEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-
SEVEN DOLLARS ($14,897.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, through the years the City Commission has expressed their desire to
showcase high level, first class holiday inspired decorations ("Decorations") to display
throughout the City during the holiday seasons; and
WHEREAS, City was in need of purchasing Decorations for the 2020 Holiday Season;
and
WHEREAS, after extensive research City staff determined that Christmas Designers.com
("Contractor") provided the Decorations most uniquely in -line with the City's vision for this
current holiday season; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor is a sole source vendor that provides unique, one -of -a -kind
holiday decorations; and
WHEREAS, City Commission now wishes to ratify the expenditure of budgeted funds
with Christmas Designers.com for the purchase of holiday decorations, in an amount not to
exceed Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety -Seven Dollars ($14,897.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratification of Expenditure of Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby
ratifies the expenditure of budgeted funds with Christmas Designers.com for the purchase of
holiday decorations, in an amount not to exceed Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety -Seven
Dollars ($14,897.00).
Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do
all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

RE: Ratify Expenditures with Christmas Designers.com for
Holiday Decorations
RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented for your consideration
REASONS:
The City was looking for holiday -inspired decorations for both to
purchase, as well as to rent, for the season.
The items we desired to purchase, and that we found most in line with
our vision for the holiday season, were through Christmas Designers,
as a sole source. These included a 16-foot walk-through lit ornament,
as well as a 9-foot lit photo frame.
In addition, the City was looking for decorating services for multiple
facilities throughout the City. We reached out to multiple companies,
and found Christmas Designers to be the most responsive,
competitive and able to meet the required timeline for completion prior
to the Thanksgiving holiday.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The total amount expended on purchased items through Christmas
Designers.com was $14,897. The total amount expended on leasing
holiday decorations for the season through Christmas Designers was
$40,000 (including a contingency amount of $1,896). Therefore, the
grand total expenditure is $54,897.00 for this holiday season. We will
be issuing a Request for Proposal in early 2021 for the next holiday
season.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding is budgeted for and available in 001-6-5720-452000-XXXXX.
