A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A FIRST
AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH CHRISTOPHER J. RUSSO
FOR PORTABLE TERM LIFE INSURANCE, ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
FIRST AMENDMENT; PROVIDING THE CITY ATTORNEY WITH THE
AUTHORITY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on July 19th, 2012 via Resolution No. 2012-1939, the City Commission
approved an Agreement with Christopher J. Russo ("City Manager") for the position of City
Manager of the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration the Mayor has renegotiated the City Manager's life
insurance, providing for a portable term life insurance policy in an amount not to exceed Seven
Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($750,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of First Amendment. The First Amendment to the Agreement with
Christopher J. Russo of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be and the
same, is hereby approved.
Section 2. Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said
Agreement.
Section 3. Authorization of the City Attorney. The City Attorney is authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Agreement.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
AND CHRISTOPHER J. RUSSO

This First Amendment to the Agreement between the CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
("Ci ") and CHRISTOPHER J. RUSSO ("Employee") executed this IV11�7 day of
2020, is made a part of the original Agreement ("Agreement") dated July 19, 2012,
between the City and Employee, a copy of which attached hereto as Attachment "A". The City and
Employee hereby agree as follows:
1. PORTABLE TERM LIFE INSURANCE. The City wishes to amend Section 6 of the
Agreement ("Life Insurance and Disability Insurance") to include a subsection four (4), providing for a
portable term life insurance policy in an amount not to exceed Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollar
($750,000.00).
2. OTHER PROVISIONS REMAIN IN EFFECT. Except as specifically modified herein, all
terms and conditions of the original Agreement between the parties, dated July 19, 2012, and attached
hereto as Attachment "A", shall remain in full force and effect.
3. CONFLICTING PROVISIONS. The terms, statements, requirements, or provisions contained
in this First Amendment shall prevail and be given superior effect and priority over any conflicting or
inconsistent terms, statements, requirements or provisions contained in any other document or attachment,
including but not limited to Attachment "A".

RE: First Amendment to the Agreement with Christopher J.
Russo for Portable Term Life Insurance
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
Since our City Manager, Chris Russo, has been remarried his family
has grown with two (2) additional children. He has asked for a change in
his contract providing for Portable Term Life Insurance. Quotes for
annual rates are being finalized and have been in the $9,000.00 to
$12,000.00 range, however, it should not exceed $13,000.00.
