Home My WebLink AboutReso 2021-3156RESOLUTION NO. 2021 - 15 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A T66 T4 BOBCAT COMPACT TRACK LOADER AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, PURSUANT TO SOURCEWELL CONTRACT NO. 040319- CEC, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY-EIGHT DOLLARS AND THIRTY CENTS ($58,528.30), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") is desirous of maintaining the beauty of the City through specialized projects requiring the use of a compact track loader; and WHEREAS, Bobcat of Miami ('Bobcat"), a leading provider of top-of-the-line compact track loaders, has advised that they have a contract under Sourcewell, f/k/a National Joint Powers Alliance, Contract No. 040319-CEC; and WHEREAS, Section 62-13 of the City Code states that purchases made under competitive bids with other governmental agencies, state general service administration contracts, or federal, county or other governmental contracts are exempt from the City's bidding requirement; and WHEREAS, Bobcat has submitted a proposal for a T66 T4 Bobcat Compact Track Loader and associated equipment, in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Eight Thousand Five Hundred Twenty -Eight Dollars and Thirty Cents ($58,528.30), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of a T66 T4 Bobcat Compact Track Loader and associated equipment, in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Eight Thousand Five Hundred Twenty -Eight Dollars and Thirty Cents ($58,528.30), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. REASONS: The Public Works Department, with the approval of the City Commission through the budget process, purchased a Bobcat Track Loader to perform work required of the Department. The cost of that item was within the authority of the City Manager at $49,942.04. Also approved through the budget is a 14" Planer, in the amount of $8,586.26. Through the procurement process, we found that Bobcat Miami, LLC provided the best value and lowest cost for this attachment however, the total amount with this vendor, this fiscal year, will now exceed $50,000. Therefore, we seek approval to expend a total amount of $58,528.30 with Bobcat Miami, LLC which is providing pricing as per the FL Sheriffs Contract # FSA20-EQU18.0.
