Artistic Holiday Designs understands the scope of work includes the design, installation, maintenance, removal and storage of all lights and decorations. Our field services includes all labor, equipment, and supplies needed to successfully complete the project. Artistic Holiday Designs began as a design firm seeking to change holiday decor. Our previous experience in turnkey holiday lighting led our team to seek out innovative and unique decor options. Whether a commercial client looking for non-denominational illuminations or a city art district looking for abstract illuminations, we were typically stuck with ordinary, uninspiring, incandescent decor. In March 2015 we partnered with Leblanc Illuminations as their sole distributor for the US market. Our creativity combined with their mastery of products allows us to be a force in the world of holiday decor. Changing the typical landscape of Christmas lights to dynamic and interactive winter displays. Our goal on every illumination project is to create a unique experience for residents and visitors. For Sunny Isles Beach, we plan to work with the city to determine the best decor and budget to create a unique and memorable experience during the holiday season. We are able to meet this goal by providing innovative decor, reliable technical products, exceptional service, and a revolutionary team of individuals focused on achieving magical lighting experiences. QUALIFICATIONS - ARTISTIC HOLIDAY DESIGNS Artistic Holiday Designs is a design firm with distribution rights for France’s Leblanc Illumination’s decor throughout the entire United States. Derek Norwood, who has over 20 years of experience in the holiday decorating business and founded Artistic Holiday Designs in March of 2015. Derek also owns HC Lights, an installation firm based in the Chicago land area. With over 40 employees, HC Lights completes over 1,000 projects per year - residential, commercial, and municipal for holiday lighting design, install, service, removal, and storage. Over the past six years, Artistic Holiday Designs has implemented over 100 projects across the US. Our approach to each project begins with determining the end goal. We work with our clients to create dynamic and often custom designs. Throughout each project, we ensure every detail of fabrication, manufacturing, delivery, technology, and installation/removal/storage is met. Artistic Holiday Designs will manage the entire project through design, manufacturing, shipping, installation, maintenance, removal, and storage. In 2013, Derek met with a French manufacturer of a very unique holiday lighting line called Leblanc Illuminations. Upon meeting with the export director of Leblanc, Derek knew right away that this product was a perfect fit for the US market and worked for over a year to procure a distribution agreement with Leblanc Illuminations. Artistic Holiday Designs was formed as a distribution company for the Leblanc brand in the US. We are first and foremost, a design firm that uses the talent from our factory to produce amazing designs for our US customers. Once an order is confirmed we have become experts in overseeing fabrication, production schedules, and importing for on-time installations. In order to continue our growth in distributing our product line, Artistic Holiday Designs has mastered the ability to offer turn-key solutions for holiday lighting displays all over the US. We partner with local install teams, use nationwide management, have travel install crews, and do this all while managing each project from our design/sales office in Lemont, Illinois. In January of 2019, Artistic Holiday Designs opened its second office located in Lake Elsinore, California. With our West Coast team we are able to cut down on shipping costs to the west coast as we have a 3 acre facility. In June 2020, our second distribution warehouse opened in South Whitley, Indiana. Artistic Holiday Designs experienced large growth since 2017 and is poised for continued success in the next 5-10 years. Protecting the planet is at the heart of our concerns and those of our customers. The desire to integrate ecological and efficient solutions has let us to develop new ones in order to limit our carbon footprint a little more each day. STAFFING Derek leading the firm as CEO, Sara Basch as lead designer, Kara Wolf as project manager, Patrick Becker as distribution direction, Mat Kronquist as regional sales director, Connor Graham as operations manager, Oscar Peterson as technical manager, and Sonya Bakrou as director of purchasing. The firm specializes in turn-key festive designs and decor. STAFFING CONTINUED Artistic Holiday Designs manages approximately 60 projects each year throughout the US. Our home office runs 14 crews throughout the holiday season. We begin installation in September and complete take down in March. Our top crews have been with the company for 15 years. These crew members travel throughout the US to oversee and complete our big project builds. In some cases, our travel crew works with local public works and/or local companies to train the first year. The following years, the city/local company takes over. The key staff members responsible for this contract are Derek Norwood, Sara Basch, Patrick Becker, and Connor Graham. Derek and Sara will work with the city of Sunny Isles Beach to develop the final budget and design of decorations and lighting. Patrick and Connor manage logistics, installation, equipment, service, maintenance, take down, and storage. Both will be responsible for the coordination of work. APPROACH / METHODOLOGY Artistic Holiday Designs approaches each project with our customer’s end goal in mind. Our team of project managers, fabricators, installers, and technical managers work seamlessly together to provide the best possible service. We believe in over communication to guarantee our team is on the right track. This also provides our clients with the knowledge of their project status at each step through design, installation, service, removal, and storage. Artistic Holiday Designs will work with the City of Sunny Isles Beach to develop the best use of budget in order to create a unique plan for holiday lighting and decor. Once selected, Derek Norwood and Sara Basch will meet with the city to finalize the design and products. All proposed designs are flexible as our manufacturer, Leblanc Illuminations, fabricates made to order decor. All necessary certificates of insurance will be shared with the city. Our purchasing director, Sonya Bakrou, resides in Le Mans, France. Sonya works directly with our factory, Leblanc Illuminations to verify all manufacturing, production, and shipping is properly executed. Once delivered to Florida, Connor Graham will handle all logistics of product along with the installation schedule, daily service, take down and storage. Our field services team includes technical managers, project managers, and operation managers who are responsible for all aspects of the install, service, take down and storage. We are fully insured for labor and equipment and will cover any necessary permitting. Overnight installation and service are often performed to limit traffic interruption. Our team will dispose of any waste and respect the property upon which decor is installed. All lighting products are LED, coaxial connections, and low voltage. Our employee training procedure manual is available upon request. All employees have completed our field services training. Inspections are routine for our installers. Crews will inspect and correct if necessary any issues with the holiday lighting and decor. The following day, a report will be shared with the city. Connor Graham will handle all maintenance and inspections. Our administrative team is available 24/7 to respond to any requests for service. Our team’s goal is to respond and complete service within 24 hour. No fees are associated with after hours or holiday service. PROJECT SCHEDULE Artistic Holiday Designs will develop a final schedule upon selection of this project. APPROACH / METHODOLOGY For each area, we have created renderings showcasing our proposed design. All products are LED, low voltage with coaxial connections to avoid GFI issues. All designs are subject to change based on the City of Sunny Isles Beach approval. The product displayed is currently in stock. Pending approval, some products may change based on availability. Our shipping channels close at the end of June. Artistic Holiday Designs stocks over 300 decors in our South Whitley, Indiana distribution facility. The trees will be wrapped in warm white LED mini lights. Each city entrance displays the Vintage Arch with warm white mini lights, chasing rope light, and daytime reflective gold and silver spangles. At Intracoastal Park, the walkway trees will be lighted with RGB flood lights. Any color option is available to set or change colors. Several 3D and walk thru displays are positioned for guests to enjoy and share on social media. Due to time restrictions, Artistic Holiday Designs cannot implement a light show with music in 2021. This option could be available for 2022. The event at Gateway Park includes our new 2021 product the Infinity Star Tunnel. The lights are programmable using the Twinkly Pro app. Thousands of settings are available to display color changes and patterns. Artistic Holiday Designs does not provide speakers or music. Several customers have used this display and have music playing in the background. The animated lights do not sync to music at this time. Along with the Infinity Star Tunnel, our design includes the 20ft Happy Tree and Gold Photo Frame for unique photo opportunities. The goal to create a unique environment to draw visitors to the area. Artistic Holiday Designs was chosen as the prime contractor for design, install, service, take down, and storage. The contract is for three years with an option to add two additional years. Our team installed unique displays for each area to create different themes around the mile path of Lake Eola. The themes included frozen, gingerbread, north pole, and candyland. We used mini lights to trunk wrap trees and then RGB flood lights for the tree tops. The flood lights were set to a specific color to enhance the area’s theme. The displays ranged from a traditional sleigh to a walk thru snowflake. The direction was to light up dark areas while keeping the holiday season in mind. Once we got started in the project we were commissioned to develop custom pole decorations for the City. Our design team used the stat- ue Spirit of Detroit as their motivation and created a pole decor with the Orb and Rays as the focal point. We also created a DETROIT sign that changes colors based on which professional sports team is playing. Trees located in the main square were lit using our permanent system, Light365. All trees were trunked wrapped in warm white with firework spritzers suspended in the tops. In open areas, 3D decor included a walk thru ornament, Animated tree, and 10ft decor. They are an integral business in our community and understand the overall results we were trying to achieve and how to make it happen. During our time in working with Artistic Holiday Designs, it has been an effortless experience. Not only are their decorative lighted designs the best quality and amazingly beautiful, the staff is quick to respond to questions and provides renderings, information, materials and installation in a timely manner. They are very professional and friendly. The Artistic Holiday Design staff created a vision for our holiday lighting displays that we could not have imagined. They worked within our budget and made our downtown into a holiday destination location, bringing thousands of people to our historic downtown. Additionally, we received hundreds of comments from residents and visitors about how beautiful the downtown lighting displays were. Business owners reported that they had a significant increase in foot traffic which led to an increase in sales. This was a benefit to the entire community.
