RE: Adoption of New City Brand
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
At the end of 2019, the City embarked on a comprehensive rebranding project with Jacober Creative.
The goal was to create a unified and identifiable brand that reflects the evolution of the city and its
future growth, connect our local government with the community we serve, inspire resident
engagement with the city, attract potential businesses and investors, and position Sunny Isles Beach as
a safe, responsive and sought-after community.
After extensive research and feedback from the community, we are confident that our new brand is
representative of all components of our community and will be a fitting representation of our
auspicious future. Our new brand is uniquely co -created with the community we serve, aims to
generate excitement and pride, and is forward -thinking and ambitious yet true to who we are. This
new brand will have a lasting impact and will reposition us in a way that will have a significant positive
influence on our community.
The final branding elements were presented and discussed at the Special City Commission Workshor
on June 23, 2021. Following a thorough review of the comments from that meeting, as well as those
submitted after the workshop through our digital outreach, the final brand is presented for your
formal adoption. This includes the core values, mission statement, vision statement, tagline, and logo.

FUNDING SOURCE:
The funding required to execute this new brand is primarily covered through the general fund as
collateral is replenished. Funding for new projects, which will require additional funds, is requested in
the proposed budget for next fiscal year.
