HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2021-3249RESOLUTION NO. 2021 RATE OF 2.2357 MILLS, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021/2022; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser of Miami -Dade County, Florida ("County Property Appraiser"), served upon the City of Sunny Isles Beach a "Certification of 2021 Taxable Value"; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 200.065, F.S., the City of Sunny Isles Beach furnished the County Property Appraiser the proposed millage rate, and the date, time, and place at which public hearings will be held to consider the final millage rate and budget; and WHEREAS, the City Commission agrees to establish the final ad valorem tax millage levy rate at 2.1000 mills per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) of taxable assessed value. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY 01 SUNj,' ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Adopt the Millage Rate. The final millage rate is hereby adopted as 2.1000 mills per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) of assessed property value in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The millage is 6.07% less than the "rolled back" rate of 2.2357 mills, for Fiscal Year 2021/2022. Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption. REASONS: On July 15th, 2021, via Resolution No. 2021-3209, the City Commission established a tentative millage rate for fiscal year 2021/2022. In that same Resolution, the dates for the First and Second Budgel Hearings were scheduled for September 7th and September 16th, respectively. This Resolution seeks to change the date of the 2nd Budget Hearing from the 16th to the 215t of September. ATTACHMENTS: Resolution Item Number: 2.0
