A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES
BEACH PROPOSED AD VALOREM TAX MILLAGE LEVY
RATE AT 2.6000 MILLS PER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($1,000.00) OF TAXABLE ASSESSED VALUE WHICH IS
9.77% MORE THAN THE "ROLLED BACK" RATE OF 2.3686
MILLS, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2014/2015; SETTING THE DATE,
TIME AND PLACE FOR THE FIRST AND SECOND PUBLIC
BUDGET HEARINGS AS REQUIRED BY LAW; DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK AND CITY MANAGER TO FILE THIS
RESOLUTION WITH THE PROPERTY APPRAISER OF
MIAMI -DADE COUNTY PURSUANT TO THE
REQUIREMENTS OF FLORIDA STATUTES AND THE
RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
REVENUE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser of Miami -Dade County, Florida, served upon the City of
Sunny Isles Beach a "Certification of 2014 Taxable Value "; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 200.065, F.S., the City of Sunny Isles Beach will furnish
the County Property Appraiser the proposed ad valorem tax millage rate, and the date, time and place
at which public hearings will be held to consider the proposed millage rate and tentative budget for
Fiscal Year 2014/2015; and
WHEREAS, the Commission agrees to establish the proposed ad valorem tax millage levy
rate at 2.6000 mills per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) of taxable assessed value.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Establish the Proposed Milla eg_Rate. The proposed ad valorem tax millage rate is
hereby established as 2.6000 mills per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) of assessed property value
in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The proposed millage reflected is 9.77% more than the "rolled
back" rate of 2.3686 mills, for Fiscal Year 2014/2015.
Section 2. Setting the Public Hearings. The date, time and place of the first and second public
hearings are hereby set by the City Commission as follows:

Section 3. Transmittal. The City Clerk and City Manager are directed to attach the original
Certification of Taxable Valuable to a certified copy of this Resolution and serve the same upon the
Property Appraiser of Miami -Dade County on or before August 4, 2014.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

2014/2015 Proposed Ad Valorem Tax Millage Levy and Schedule
of Public Hearings
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend approval of resolution establishing a proposed ad valorem tax rate
for 2014/2015 and setting the schedule of public hearings to consider the
proposed millage rate and tentative budget.
REASONS:
In accordance with Florida Statute 200.065, the City received the July 1
"Certification of 2014 Taxable Value." The City must now establish a proposed
millage rate and the date, time and place at which the public hearings shall be
held to consider the proposed millage rate and tentative budget, to be furnished
to the County Property Appraiser no later than August 4, 2014.
