A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
PURCHASE AN EMERGENCY TRAFFIC SUPPORT TRAILER AND
ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT,
FOR A TOTAL COST NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY -ONE THOUSAND SIX
HUNDRED EIGHTY -FIVE DOLLARS AND TWO CENTS ($61,685.02),
ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A "; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of an Emergency Traffic Support Trailer to
secure, stop or redirect traffic at the scene of any traffic related or traffic effected incidents; and
WHEREAS, the Emergency Traffic Support Trailer will be available to mobilize within
minutes to any location within the City and will be equipped with the necessary equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City now wishes to purchase an Emergency Traffic Support Trailer and
associated equipment off GAS Contract #GS- 3OF- 0012T, three quotes were obtained for both the
purchase of the Generator and the Portable Area Lighting and will be awarded to the lowest
responsive responsible bidder (Generator: National Tool Supply, Inc. / Area Lighting: Strobes -R-
Us), and all other equipment is under the limits of the procurement guidelines and will be
purchased from a variety of vendors, for a total cost not to exceed Sixty -One Thousand Six
Hundred Eighty -Five Dollars and Two Cents ($61,685.02), attached hereto as Exhibit "A "; and
WHEREAS, staff determined that the above prices are reasonable and customary for said
purchases and recommends that the City Commission approve the purchases.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City
Manager to purchase an Emergency Traffic Support Trailer and associated equipment to be used
by the Police Department from National Tool Supply, Inc., Strobes -R -Us, and other vendors, in
an amount not to exceed Sixty -One Thousand Six Hundred Eighty -Five Dollars and Two Cents
($61,685.02), attached hereto as Exhibit "A ", to be funded by the Department of Justice "DOJ"
Federal Forfeiture Funds.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager_ The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.

Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Dear Sir,
As per your telephone conversation with Kathy Carter, the following is a
quote on a Honda EU6500is generator.
We will deliver, with "no charge" for delivery, a brand new Honda
generator, model EU6500is, for a total price of $3,695.00.
When you are ready, please FAX or e-mail us an official Purchase Order
from your City /Municipality and a State of Florida Sales Tax Exemption
Certificate.
If you would like, out driver can set the generator up for you for a fee of
$50 paid to him at the time of delivery. That would involve his putting
the included wheels on the frame for you, connecting the battery,
adding oil to the engine and filling the gas tank for you. Regardless of
whether you desire his assistance, we supply all of the mentioned parts
at "no- charge" with the exception of the gasoline. You will have to
have regular unleaded gasoline available if you would like our driver to
fill the tank and run the generator for you.
You may also order 5- gallon "no- spill" gas cans from us for $19.95 each
and we also can provide 50' extension cords with multi - outlet blocks on
them for $39.95 and 100' cordsets for $59.95 each. Each is the finest
12 -3 indoor /outdoor electrical cord manufactured by Woods Electric.
The EU6500is generator comes with a 3 -year warranty that includes all
parts and labor.

RE: Approval to purchase an Emergency Traffic Support Trailer and all
related Equipment and Accessories for a total cost not to exceed
$61,685.02
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution
authorizing the City Manager to purchase an Emergency Traffic Support Trailer
and all related Equipment and Accessories to be used by the Police Department.
REASONS:
This Emergency Traffic Support Trailer will be available to mobilize within
minutes to any location within the city and will be equipped with the necessary
equipment to secure, stop or redirect traffic at the scene of any traffic related or
traffic effected incidents.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This Trailer will be purchased off the GAS Contract# GS- 30E- 0012T, three
quotes were obtained for both the purchase of the Generator and the Portable
Area Lighting and will be awarded to the lowest responsive responsible bidder
(Generator: National Tool Supply, Inc. / Area Lighting: Strobes- R -Us). All other
equipment is under the limits of the procurement guidelines and will be
purchased from a variety of vendors.
