A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE LEASE
AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AND THE UNITED STATES
POSTAL SERVICE, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A ";
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID LEASE
AMENDMENT; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE
CITY ATTORNEY WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida (the "City "), leases a portion of its
government office located at 18070 Collins Avenue to the United States Postal Service ( "Postal
Service ") for a post office branch location; and
WHEREAS, the parties agreed to a five year lease agreement with the Postal Service in an
annual amount of Twenty One Thousand Dollars ($21,000.00), effective April 1, 2010, through
March 31, 2015, with an optional five year renewal period at the then existing market value in the
City (the "Agreement "); and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue to lease office space to the Postal Service for a
branch location in the Government Center; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into a Lease Amendment to the Agreement and
exercise its five year renewal period, effective April 1, 2015, through March 31, 2020, in an annual
amount of Twenty Five Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($25,200.00), a copy of which is
incorporated herein and attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of the Lease Amendment. The Lease Amendment to the Agreement
between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the United States Postal Service, effective April 1,
2015, through March 31, 2020, in an annual amount of Twenty Five Thousand Two Hundred
Dollars ($25,200.00) attached hereto as Exhibit "A ", is hereby approved.
Section 2. Authorization of Maw The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Lease
Amendment to the Agreement between City of Sunny Isles Beach and the United States Postal
Service, a copy of which is incorporated herein and attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
Section 3. Authorization of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager and City
Attorney are hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this
Resolution.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

This refers to the Lease accepted by the United States Postal Service, hereinafter called the Postal Service, under date
of 09/24/2008 , whereby there is leased to the Postal Service the above-described facility.
WHEREAS, the Postal Service desires and Landlord is willing to amend the Lease as specified below;
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements herein set forth, and for other good and
valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the parties do hereby agree as follows,
effective on the date this document is executed by the Postal Service.

Resolution Approving the Lease Amendment with the United
States Postal Service
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the Lease Amendment with
the United States Postal Service.
REASONS:
By way of background, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida (the "City "), leases
a portion of its government office located at 18070 Collins Avenue to the United
States Postal Service ( "Postal Service ") for a post office branch location.
Most recently, the parties agreed to a five year lease agreement with the Postal
Service in an annual amount of Twenty One Thousand Dollars ($21,000.00),
effective April 1, 2010, through March 31, 2015, with an optional five year
renewal period at the then existing market value in the City (the "Agreement ").
The City wishes to enter into a Lease Amendment to the Agreement and
exercise its five year renewal period, effective April 1, 2015, through March 31,
2020, in an annual amount of Twenty Five Thousand Two Hundred Dollars
($25,200.00).
