RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve this Resolution authorizing
the City Manager to donate the surplus computer equipment described below to
the Miami -Dade County Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South
Florida, and Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center.
REASONS:
The City is in possession of surplus computers and monitors, older systems that

business use in the City.
The Miami -Dade County Public Schools has reviewed the complete list of
equipment below, and would like 3 of the Optiplex 755 desktops, 5 of the D630
laptops, 3 of the Optiplex 780 desktops, half of the E6400 laptops (15), one
Poweredge 2950 server, and two APC UPS's, for use at the Norman S. Edelcup /
SIB K -8 School.
The Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center's mission is to empower, strengthen,
and stabilize South Florida's Haitian community through access for free services
and resources, to ensure its successful integration. Five DELL D630 laptops will
be donated to this organization.

history of mentoring at -risk youth. Founded in 1958, its mission is to provide
children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one -
to -one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. BBBSGM
provides the community with a long -term prevention service and youth -
development program through its various mentoring programs. Programs
address the urgent needs and complex issues associated with poverty and
declining graduation rates by providing children and young people with adult
mentors who interact with them on a regular basis. The programs support more
than 2,100 one -to -one matches in which a trained volunteer mentor is paired with
a child or young person. The remaining equipment that is not accepted by the
Miami -Dade County Public Schools and Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center
will be donated to this organization to help our local community.
