A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE
PARTS AND SUPPLIES FROM W.W. GRAINGER, INC. FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF
THE GOVERNMENT CENTER, STREETS, AND PARKS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($65,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") currently purchases necessary parts and
supplies for the maintenance of the Government Center, Streets, and Parks ("Facilities"); and
WHEREAS, the City staff is requesting the authority to purchase parts and supplies
which may be needed for the maintenance of the City's Facilities, by utilizing State of Florida
Contract No. 31160000-20-NASPO-ACS; and
WHEREAS, Section 62-13(C) of the City Code provides the authority to access a
competitively solicited contract from any other governmental organization; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to make
purchases from W.W. Grainger, Inc. for parts and supplies for the maintenance of City Facilities,
in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Purchasing Authority. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager,
or his designee, to make purchases from W.W. Grainger, Inc. for parts and supplies for the
maintenance of City Facilities, in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars
($65,000.00). The City Manager shall seek additional authority from the City Commission if the
$65,000.00 authority is exceeded.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of May 2022.

Authorization to Purchase Parts and Supplies from Grainger for the
Maintenance of the Government Center, Streets, and Parks
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
The City currently purchases necessary parts and supplies for the maintenance of the Governmeni
Center, Streets and Parks from Grainger. The City's Grainger account is tied to the State of Floridz
contract.
Historically, the Grainger purchase order has not exceed $50,000.00 however with the recent
purchases of sustainable energy efficient fixtures, the purchase order is expected to exceed the formal
threshold this Fiscal Year. For instance, Public Works has purchased and installed sensor faucets and
automatic toilet sensors. The new faucets are WaterSense Certified. Per the manufacturer,
WaterSense labeled bathroom sink faucets and accessories that use a maximum of 1.5 gallons per
minute which can reduce a sink's water flow by 30 percent or more from the standard flow of 2.2
gallons per minute without sacrificing performance.
Therefore, the City is requesting authority to spend an amount not to exceed $65,000 with Grainger.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds have been appropriated in various department budgets, as needed.
