Home My WebLink AboutReso 2022-3369RESOLUTION NO. 2022-� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS WITH ALLEN JAY FLEET SALES FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 2023 CHEVY TAHOE AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS ($63,880.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of purchasing a new vehicle ("Purchase") for the Chief of Police; and WHEREAS, on July 211t, 2022, the City Commission authorized the Chief of Police to expend partial forfeiture funds from the Department of Justice for the Purchase; and WHEREAS, Alan Jay Fleet Sales ("Vendor") has advised that they have a contract under Sourcewell Contract No. 2023 091521 -NAF and 060920 -NAF; and WHEREAS, Section 62-13 of the City Code states that purchases made under competitive bids with other governmental agencies, state general service administration contracts, or federal, county or other governmental contracts are exempt from the City's bidding requirements; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the expenditure of budgeted funds with Allen Jay Fleet Sales for the purchase of a 2023 Chevy Tahoe and associated equipment, in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Three Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty Dollars ($63,880.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ratification of Expenditure of Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby approves the expenditure of budgeted funds with Allen Jay Fleet Sales for the purchase of a 2023 Chevy Tahoe and associated equipment, in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Three Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty Dollars ($63,880.00). Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
