Home My WebLink AboutReso 2022-339006 RESOLUTION NO. 2022 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLICE AND OCEAN RESCUE VEHICLES FROM BARTOW FORD, IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE DOLLARS AND SEVENTY-FIVE CENTS ($639,221.75); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") was in need of purchasing various vehicles for the Police Department and Ocean Rescue ("Vehicles"), which were not anticipated in the adopted budget for Fiscal Year 2021/2022; and WHEREAS, on July 21, 2022, via Ordinance No. 2022-588, the City Commission adopted Budget Amendment BA2122-02 ("Budget Amendment") to budget funds for the purchase of the Vehicles; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13(C) of the City's Purchasing Code, purchases made under state general service administration contracts, federal, county or other governmental contracts or competitive bids with other governmental agencies, are exempt from the competitive bidding requirements set forth in Chapter 62; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Budget Amendment, the City Administration purchased various vehicles from Bartow Ford utilizing Charlotte County Bid No. 2021000541; and WHEREAS, the City now wishes to ratify the expenditure of budgeted funds for the purchase of the Vehicles with Bartow Ford, in the amount of Six Hundred Thirty -Nine Thousand Two Hundred Twenty -One Dollars and Seventy -Five Cents ($639,221.75). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ratification of the Expenditure of Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby ratifies the expenditure of budgeted funds for the purchase of Police and Ocean Rescue vehicles with Bartow Ford in the amount of Six Hundred Thirty -Nine Thousand Two Hundred Twenty -One Dollars and Seventy -Five Cents ($639,221.75). Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. REASONS: Due to the supply chain shortage of vehicles and the extended lead time that has been estimated to be 30-42 week a budget amendment was approved by Commission on July 21, 2022 (BA2022-02) tc purchase police vehicles. The vehicles have been ordered from Bartow Ford using the Charlotte County contract for an amount not exceed $639,221.75.
