A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE TO THE PURCHASE ORDER WITH STAPLES
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TEN THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($10,000.00), SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") currently purchases office supplies and
equipment ("Supplies"), many of which are purchased from Staples; and
WHEREAS, on September 14th, 2021, via Resolution No. 2021-3231, the City Commission
approved a blanket purchase order authorizing the City Manager or his designee to purchase
necessary Supplies from Staples for Fiscal Year 2021/2022, in an amount not to exceed
$55,000.00; and
WHEREAS, it is projected that the City will to exceed the blanket purchase order for the
remainder of this current fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the City will continue to purchase Supplies from Staples utilizing State of
Florida Contract No. 44111513-17-01; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to authorize an increase to the blanket purchase order with
Staples for office supplies and equipment, in an amount not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars
($10,000.00), bringing the total not to exceed amount to Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars
($65,000.00) for Fiscal Year 2021/2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Increase to Blanket Purchase Order. The City Commission hereby authorizes an
increase to the blanket purchase order with Staples for office supplies and equipment, in an
amount not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00), bringing the total not to exceed
amount to Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00) for Fiscal Year 2021/2022.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

RE: Approval of an Increase in Spending Authority with Staples FY 21-22
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
In September 14, 2021, the City Commission approved resolution 2021-3231 for an amount NTE o
$55,000. The Blanket Purchase Order does not have enough funds to cover for the remaining of the
fiscal year 2021-2022. The City is requesting an additional $10,000 spending authority increase to
cover invoices for the of September and August 2022. Therefore, the City is requesting authority tc
spend an amount not to exceed $65,000 with Staples for office supplies.
This contract is piggybacking the State of Florida, contract number 44111513-17-01, which is active
through 04/17/2027.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds have been appropriated in various department budgets, as needed.
