Please print and scan the documents in order to merge bid documents. Q2. Can a State License Certified Building Contractor bid on this project? The only difference between a CGC and a CBC is that a CBC cannot build exterior shell above 3 floors, but perform all interior work no matter how many floors. Note, 90% of our volume is public entities. We have performed projects throughout the state mostly in Miami -Dade County as Certified Small Business entity. All our projects have been above satisfactory or better, based off evaluations from all our government projects. Also, in the future please examine your projects that are below three floors exterior and infinite floors interior so Certified Building Contractors who are highly qualified want be overlooked in the letting process? Q1.On this addendum it states: Interior tile shall be 12"x24" earthtone tile. The current schedule shows 6" x 12" wall tiles (6 different ones) and 6" x 6" quarry floor tiles. Which tiles are these replacing ?What brand of tiles and color? Earthtone is a range of colors. Also under the paint specs for the epoxy floor it states: Submit shop drawings/samples to Architect for approval. I never heard of a shop drawing for paint. Please clarify. Al. 12x24 is for wall tiles, 6x6 tiles are the outside walk. Brand is open, color will be decided by reviewing the color samples as part of submittals. Floor paint specs will be the specification info for the epoxy flooring with color samples. Q2. I won't be able to break down the bid as per your scope sheet. The best I can do is per trade and not per line items. A2 Per page 34 of the ITB, Bidder must completely fill out each column below, i.e., unit price and total. The City reserves the right to increase, decrease, and/or choose the items and quantities below for the Project to meet its available budget using the unit prices provided. Q3. From the ITB, Section 2.8, Performance & Payment Bond, our surety, Travelers, finds ambiguity with the latent defects language and has reservations guaranteeing for a period after the industry standard of one year. Considering the scope of the work, can this "and for latent defect" be striked out or can one (1) year be clearly specified? A3. All materials and workmanship must be warranted for a minimum period of one year from - the date of final acceptance. In the event any work is found to be defective within one year after the date of Final Completion, Contractor shall promptly, without cost to City and in 1 accordance with City's written instructions, either correct such defective Work, or, if it has been rejected by City, remove it from the site and replace it with non -defective Work. If Contractor does not promptly comply with the terms of such instructions, or in an emergency where delay would cause serious risk of loss or damage, City may have the defective Work corrected or the rejected Work removed and replaced, and all direct, indirect and consequential costs of such removalandreplacement (including but not limited to fees and charges of engineers, architects, attorneys and other professionals) will be promptly paid by Contractor. Nothing in this ITB or the Contract shall be construed as a limitation on any right or remedy for breach of the Contract or defects in the Work.
