A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO.1 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH MUSCO
SPORTS LIGHTING, I.I.C. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF FIELD LIGHTING AT SENATOR
GWEN MARGOLIS PARK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVEN THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($7,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on April 121h, 2022, via Resolution No. 2022-3316, the City Commission of the
City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") approved an Agreement with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC.
("Contractor") for the installation of field lighting at Senator Gwen Margolis Park, in an amount not
to exceed $282,750.00; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has submitted Change Order No. 1, in the amount of Seven
Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00), to increase the pole size to Exposure D, as required for permitting;
and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to approve Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement with Musco
Sports Lighting, LLC. for the installation of field lighting at Senator Gwen Margolis Park, in an
amount not to exceed Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00), bringing the total contract amount not
to exceed Two Hundred Eighty -Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($289,750.00),
attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Change Order No. 1. The City Commission hereby approves Change
Order No. 1 to the Agreement with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC. for the installation of field lighting
at Senator Gwen Margolis Park, in an amount not to exceed Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00),
bringing the total contract amount not to exceed Two Hundred Eighty -Nine Thousand Seven
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($289,750.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

DESCRIPTION OF SCOPE OR WORK CHANGES:
Increase in pole sizing due to the change to Wind Exposure D category poles, as required for
permitting.

RE: Change order for Musco field lighting project
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
In April, 2021 Commission adopted a resolution to purchase and install field lighting at Senator Gwer
Margolis Park. The total amount was approved for $282,750 which included a contingency of $13,500.
The Engineer for permitting is requiring Exposure D pole size which results in an increase. As a result
we are requesting an additional $7,000 to complete the lighting project.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds have been appropriated in account no. 300-6-5720-465000-250001.
