A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CCPMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, ELECTING �� �•P- q_.` tfAS VICE -MAYOR;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section C -2.2(b) of the City Charter of the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City")
provides that the City Commission shall elect one of its members as Vice -Mayor at the first
Commission meeting after the 30th day following the day of the general or run-off election of the
City Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Charter further provides that in any calendar year in which there is no
regular City election, the Commission shall elect of its members as Vice -Mayor at the first
Commission meeting in the month of November of such year; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements set forth in the City Charter, the City Commission
shall now elect one of its members as Vice -Mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Election of Vice -Mayor. That 'zfgF4 k-j17ll��Z;i shall be Vice -Mayor
commencing immediately, pursuant to §2.2(b) of the City bf Sunny Isles Beach Municipal Charter.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effeclivL iediately upon adoption.

RE: Election of a New Vice Mayor
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
Pursuant to Section 2.2 (b) of the City's Charter, the Vice Mayor will be appointed every calendar year.
The mayor may nominate the Vice Mayor, with confirmation by the City Commission.
