1. CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Scholl at 6:00 p.m. with the following officials
present:
Mayor George “Bud” Scholl
Vice Mayor Larisa Svechin

City Manager Christopher J. Russo

2. OPENING REMARKS BY MAYOR
3. PUBLIC HEARING
3A. Local Planning Agency discussion and/or action re: an Ordinance of the City of Sunny Isles
Beach imposing a twelve (12) month moratorium on the submission and consideration of
zoning applications, development orders, and development permits in the Town Center
Zoning District.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Planning and Zoning Director Claudia
Hasbun reported.

Andrew; Vasilev, Igor; Grossman, Greg; Kalish, Ella; Grozdanova, Rumiana; Steiger, Arie.
Vice Mayor Svechin moved, and Commissioner Viscarra seconded a motion to recommend to
the City Commission the adoption of the Ordinance. The motion was adopted by a voice
vote of 4-1 in favor [Commissioner Goldman opposed].
3B. Local Planning Agency discussion and/or action re: a Resolution of the City of Sunny Isles
Beach declaring a “Zoning in Progress” relating to development and redevelopment in the
Town Center Zoning District.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and City Manager Christopher J. Russo
reported.

Vice Mayor Viscarra moved, and Commissioner Viscarra seconded a motion to recommend
the approval of the Resolution. The motion was adopted by a roll call vote of 4-1 in favor
[Commissioner Goldman opposed].
3C. Add On:
Local Planning Agency discussion and/or action re: A Resolution of the City Commission of the
City of Sunny Isles Beach, Urging the City Commission to Amend the Town Center Zoning
Code to Conform with the Density and Intensity in the Adopted Comprehensive Plan for
the Town Center District, Which was Originally Established Under the 2000
Comprehensive Plan; Directing the City Manager or Designee to Develop a Plan of Action to
Remedy the Problems with the Existing Buildings Located on the South Side of Sunny Isles
Blvd., Provided that Such Plan Does not Require an Increase of Density and Intensity in Areas
Outside of the South Side of Sunny Isles Blvd; Requiring Compliance with the Comprehensive
Plan for any Development Approvals; Providing for Effective Date.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Commissioner Goldman reported.

Cecilia.
Commissioner Goldman moved to recommend to the City Commission the adoption of the
Resolution. Having received no second, the motion failed.
4. ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Goldman adjourned the meeting at 8:10 p.m.
