CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS The meeting was called to order by Mayor Scholl at 6:35 p.m. with the following officials present: Mayor George Scholl* Vice Mayor Larisa Svechin* Commissioner Dana Goldman Commissioner Alex Lama Commissioner Jeniffer Viscarra [*Clerk’s Note: Participated virtually.] City Manager Christopher J. Additional Information: Hybrid Regular City Commission Meeting – Dec. 17, 2020. Action: Commissioner Goldman moved, and Vice Mayor Svechin seconded a motion to defer the above-mentioned Summary Minutes. The motion was approved by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 4. ORDER OF BUSINESS (Additions/Deletions/Amendments) 4A. REQUEST TO HEAR ITEMS Additional Information: 3A. Hybrid City Commission Meeting – December 17, 2020; Deferred: 5E. 2020 City Manager Award Recipients. Add On: 10J. Resolution Condemning Hate and Extremism; Add On: 12A. Discussion re: Expressing Support of the State of Florida Prioritizing Vaccinations for Florida Residents. Action: Vice Mayor Svechin moved, and Commissioner Goldman seconded a motion to approve the above-mentioned change to the agenda. The motion was approved by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving the Purchase of a T66 T4 Bobcat Compact Track Loader and Associated Equipment, Pursuant to Sourcewell Contract No. 040319-CEC, in an Amount Not to Exceed $58,528.30, Attached Hereto as Exhibit “A”; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving an Increase in Spending Authority with Calvin, Giordano And Associates, Inc. for the Newport Pier Cleanup Services, in an Amount not to Exceed $10,584.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit “A”; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Approving a Sixth Amendment to the Agreement with O’Leary Richards Design Associates, Inc. for Landscape Architect Services, in a Total Amount Not to Exceed $77.000.00, Attached Hereto as Exhibit “A”; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Amendment; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Qualifying and Approving the Short List of Civil Engineering Firms to Provide General Civil Engineering Services, on an As-Needed Basis, in Response to RFQ No. 20-07-01 for Continuing Consulting Services; Authorizing the City Manager or His/Her Designee to Negotiate Continuing Consultant Agreements with Said Civil Engineering Firms, Provided Said Agreements are Approved as to Form and Legal Sufficiency by the City Attorney; Further Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Expressing Support for Florida Senate Bill 554 Which Would Amend Section 1003.42, Florida Summary Minutes: Hybrid Regular City Commission Meeting January 21, 2021 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 7 Statutes, to Revise the Required Health Education in Public Schools to Include Information Regarding the Dangers and Signs of Human Trafficking, and Specifying the Minimum Requirements of the Human Trafficking Education Portion of the Comprehensive Health Education Curriculum; Urging the Florida Legislature and Governor Ron DeSantis to Support and Approve the Legislation; Directing the City Clerk to Distribute Copies of this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date.
