RE: Revising the Pier Admission Fees
RECOMMENDATION:
Presented for consideration.
REASONS:
On July 18, 2013, via Resolution No. 2013-2095, the City Commission approved a managemen-
agreement with American Federated Title Corp. for exclusive management rights for the Newpor-
Fishing Pier. Section 3(a) of the Agreement provides for the following admission fees to the Pier: $2.50
for residents and $5.00 for non-residents. Agreement further states that the admission fees may be
increased or decreased upon approval of the City. Due to increased maintenance costs, I believe that
it is in the best interest of the City to revise the admission fees, as follows:
• General Admission
■ $5.00 for non-residents;
■ Free of charge for residents with a Resident ID Card.
• Fishing Activities Admission
■ $10.00 for non-residents;
■ Free of charge for residents with a Resident ID Card.
