A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPROVING THE SCHEMATIC DESIGN OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT
500 SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD, KNOWN AS BELLA VISTA PARK, ATTACHED
HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") is the owner of the property located
at 500 Sunny Isles Boulevard, known as Bella Vista Park ("BVP"); and
WHEREAS, on May 19th, 2022, via Resolution No. 2022-3334, the City Commission
approved a Project Agreement with Keith and Associates, Inc. ("Keith") to provide civil
engineering and landscape architectural services for a new structure at BVP; and
WHEREAS, on October 20, 2022, via Resolution No. 2022-3419, the City Commission
approved a Project Agreement with Rodriguez Architects, Inc. ("Rodriguez") to provide
professional architectural services for a new structure at BVP; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the schematic design for BVP,
attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Schematic Design. The City Commission hereby approves the
schematic design for the Bella Vista Park, attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RE: Approval of Schematic Design for Bella Vista ParkA
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
Through Resolution Numbers 2022-3334 and 2022-3419, the City contracted with architects and
engineers to design a park with a combined marine patrol office and park services office and adjoining
amenities to complete the envisioned Bella Vista Park. This plan before you for approval takes into
consideration the creation of a passive park adjacent to the City's new dock facility.
The marine patrol boat is currently parked at Winston Towers, which is not ideal. Additionally, the City
Commission approved the purchase of a second boat and marine patrol officer to provide
enforcement 7 days per week. This facility is needed to complete the vision of the improved Marine
Patrol Division. The limited parking on the site plan is for the marine patrol office. Public parking will
remain at the public parking lot adjacent to this parcel.
With your approval, the construction drawings for a new seawall, building and park facilities will be
completed and we will proceed with bidding to construct this project.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The schematic design will be provided in advance of the meeting.
