HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2024-3664RESOLUTION 2024 - %& A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT, ENTER INTO, AND EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENTS AWARDED BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA, OR ANY OF ITS AGENCIES, RELATED TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND CYBERSECURITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the State of Florida and its agencies periodically permit eligible local governments the opportunity to apply for certain grants related to information technology and cybersecurity; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 119.071(1)(h), 119.0725 and 282.318, Florida Statutes, certain information related to cybersecurity, including information contained in grant applications, awards, and the specific capabilities and funding awarded, are confidential and exempt from the public disclosure and public meeting requirements of Section 119.07(1), Florida Statutes, and Section 286.011, Florida Statutes; and WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the receipt, acceptance, and execution of confidential and exempt grants related to information technology and cybersecurity, the City Commission wishes to authorize the City Manager to accept, enter into, and execute grant agreements awarded by the State of Florida, or any of its agencies, related to information technology and cybersecurity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorization of City Manager. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to accept, enter into, and execute grant agreements awarded by the State of Florida, or any of its agencies, related to information technology and cybersecurity, and the City Manager is hereby also authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED on first reading this 20th day of June 024.
