A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) TOYOTA RAV4 LE HYBRID VEHICLES FROM SEMINOLE
TOYOTA, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE
THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWELVE DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($125,912.00);
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on September 14, 2023, via Ordinance No. 2023-606, the City Commission of
the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") adopted the Operating and Capital Improvement Budget
for the Fiscal Year Commencing October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024 ("Adopted
Budget"); and
WHEREAS, City's Building Department ("BLDG") is in need of purchasing four (4) Toyota
RAV4 LE Hybrid Vehicles (the "Vehicles") to continue offering high levels of service to City
residents and stakeholders; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13(C) of the City's Purchasing Code, purchases made
under state general service administration contracts, federal, county or other governmental
contracts or competitive bids with other governmental agencies, are exempt from the
competitive bidding requirements set forth in Chapter 62; and
WHEREAS, City staff has been able to secure the Vehicles from Seminole Toyota (the
"Vendor") utilizing the Florida Sheriff's Association Contract No. FSA23-VEL31.0; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of these Vehicles were included in the Adopted Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to authorize the City Manager, or his designee,
to expend budgeted funds for the purchase of the Vehicles from the Vendor, in an amount not
to exceed One Hundred Twenty -Five Thousand Nine Hundred Twelve Dollars and No Cents
($125,912.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Purchasing Authority. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager,
or his designee, to purchase four (4) Toyota RAV4 LE Hybrid vehicles from Seminole Toyota and
expend budgeted funds in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Twenty -Five Thousand Nine
Hundred Twelve Dollars and No Cents ($125,912.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

RE: Authorization to Expend Budgeted Funds for the Purchase of 4 Toyota RAV4
LE Hybrid Vehicles from Seminole Toyota
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
REASONS:
The Building Department requesting the City Commission to authorize the expenditure of funds,
budgeted in the Building Department, for the purchase of four (4) Toyota RAV4 LE Hybrid Vehicles from
Seminole Toyota, in an amount not to exceed $125,912. The vehicles have been successfully secured by
the purchasing department and will be available in August of this year.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The four (4) Toyota RAV4 LE Hybrid (model 4435) vehicles will be purchased for the use of the Building
Department, utilizing the Florida Sheriff's Association Contract information below:

Group: Utility& Hybrid Utility Vehicles -4x2
