A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS WITH MCKIBBEN
MOTORSPORTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIVE (5) UN's FOR THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT AND THE OCEAN RESCUE DIVISION, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
SEVENTY-FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX DOLLARS AND NO
CENTS ($74,826.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") has the need to rotate their utility task
vehicles ("UTVs") to ensure the safety and reliability of its equipment for the Ocean Rescue
Division; and
WHEREAS, the McKibben Motorsports ("Vendor") has provided the City with a quote for
four (4) UTVs for the Ocean Rescue Division in the amount of $62,230.00, attached hereto as
Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the Vendor has provided the City with a quote for one (1) UTV for the Police
Department in the amount of $12,596.00, attached hereto as Exhibit "B"; and
WHEREAS, the Vendor has agreed to furnish the five (5) UTVs utilizing the Florida
Sheriffs Association Contract #FSA-23-EQU21.0; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13 of the City's Code, purchase made through
intergovernmental cooperative purchasing arrangements or purchasing consortiums organized
as a corporation not-for-profit whose members are governmental entities are exempt from the
City's competitive bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, the City now wishes to authorize the expenditure of budgeted funds with the
Vendor for the purchase of five (5) UTVs and associated equipment, for a total amount not to
exceed Seventy -Four Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty -Six Dollars and No Cents ($74,826.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorizing the Expenditure of Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby
authorizes the expenditure of budgeted funds with McKibben Motorsports for the purchase of
five (5) UTVs and associated equipment, in an amount not to exceed Seventy -Four Thousand
Eight Hundred Twenty -Six Dollars and No Cents ($74,826.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RE: Approval to Purchase UTVs from McKibben Motorsports
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
The Ocean Rescue Division has budgeted for utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) to patrol our beaches. We are
seeking approval to expend the budgeted funds with McKibben Motorsports in the amount of
$62,230.00 to purchase four (4) UTVs.
The Police Department has also budgeted for a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) to patrol our beaches. We
are seeking approval to expend the budgeted funds with McKibben Motorsports in the amount of
$12,596.00 to purchase one (1) UTV.
Both purchase will be made utilizing the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract No. FSA-23-EQU21.0.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds have been appropriated in accounts 001-3-5290-464200-00000 and 001-3-5210-464200-00000.
