HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2024-3747RESOLUTION NO. 2024- "'7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A FORD F-250 SUPER CREW PICKUP TRUCK FROM ALAN JAY FLEET SALES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-FOUR THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED FIFTY-SIX DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($64,956.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on September 14, 2023, via Ordinance No. 2023-606, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") adopted the Operating and Capital Improvement Budget for the Fiscal Year Commencing October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024 ("Adopted Budget"); and WHEREAS, City's Public Work's Department is in need of purchasing a F-250 Super Crew Pickup Truck (the "Truck") for use during maintenance projects of the City requiring transport of heavy-duty equipment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13(C) of the City's Purchasing Code, purchases made under state general service administration contracts, federal, county or other governmental contracts or competitive bids with other governmental agencies, are exempt from the competitive bidding requirements set forth in Chapter 62; and WHEREAS, City staff has been able to secure the Truck from Alan Jay Fleet Sales (the "Vendor") utilizing the 2024 City of Tallahassee Contract No. 5179-2024; and WHEREAS, the purchase of the Truck was included in the Adopted Budget; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to expend budgeted funds for the purchase of the Truck from the Vendor, in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Four Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty -Six Dollars and No Cents ($64,956.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authority to Expend Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to expend budgeted funds in an amount not to exceed Sixty - Four Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty -Six Dollars and No Cents ($64,956.00) for the purchase of a F-250 Super Crew Pickup Truck from Alan Jay Fleet Sales. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. REASONS: The City of Sunny Isles Beach is in need of a F-250 Super Crew Pickup (Truck). This Public Works vehicle was budgeted for the Fiscal Year 2024/2025. This Truck is needed for the Facilities technicians. Currently, there is one pickup truck for four technicians which is in need of repairs. This Truck is also needed to transport heavy duty loads, such as, but not limited to the portable drainage pumps. Alan Jay Fleet Sales has a 2024 Ford F-250 Super Crew Pickup 4WD 160" W13 XL 6.5' Bed available on the lot. The purchase of the Truck will be made utilizing City of Tallahassee contract no. 5179 New Municipal Vehicles, Cars, Vans, Sport Utility Vehicles, and Light Trucks awarded to Alan Jay Fleet Sales.
