HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2024-3746RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 374,(p A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A MADVAC LRSO MINI SWEEPER FROM ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT GROUP, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINETY THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($90,723.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") is desirous of maintaining the clean aesthetics of the City's roadways; and WHEREAS, Environmental Product Group (the "Vendor") is the exclusive distributor of the Exprolink/Madvac Mini -Sweeper (the "Sweeper"); and WHEREAS, after performing a good faith review of available sources, City staff has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to purchase the Sweeper offered by the Vendor as a sole source vendor; and WHEREAS, section 62-13(F) of the City's Code of Ordinances provides that supplies, equipment or services available from a sole source only may be exempted from the bidding requirements of Chapter 62; and WHEREAS, the Vendor has submitted a quote for the purchase of the Sweeper, attached here to as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the expenditure of budgeted funds with the Vendor for the purchase of the Sweeper, in an amount not to exceed Ninety Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty -Three Dollars and No Cents ($90,723.00). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorizing Expenditure of Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby approves the expenditure of budgeted funds with Environmental Product Group for the purchase of a mini street sweeper, in an amount not to exceed Ninety Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty -Three Dollars and No Cents ($90,723.00), as quoted in Exhibit "A". Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. REASONS: The City of Sunny Isles Beach is in need of an urban litter collector to enhance our litter control program. This will provide accessibility to clean the beach accesses, urban trails, parking lots, the end of median turns, interior sidewalks and playgrounds to name a few. This is a more efficient and effective way of controlling litter and maintaining the high quality of service we strive to provide. Purchasing has reviewed and approved the use of the Sole source for the State of Florida for Exprolink / Madvac products represented on Sourcewell contracts by vendor #122017 -EXP for this purchase. A mini sweeper in the amount of $135,000.00 was approved by the Commission for the Fiscal Year 2024/2025. Environmental Product Group is offering a Madvac LR50 equipment with an extended warranty, in the amount not to exceed $90,723.00.
