AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2024-618; APPROVING BUDGET
AMENDMENT NO. BA2425-01 TO THE CITY'S OPERATING AND CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT BUDGET FOR THE 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR - CAPITAL PROJECTS
FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
IMPLEMENT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 200.065 and 166.241, Florida Statutes, and the
City Charter, the City Commission adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 ("Budget") by
Ordinance No. 2024-618; and
WHEREAS, the City's Finance Director has determined a need to amend the Budget to:
(1) allocate an additional S171,735 for the Government Center Solar Improvements
project as outlined in the proposal. The resolution is scheduled to be on the October agenda for
commission approval; (2) allocate an additional $700,000 for the Intracoastal Sports Park
project as outlined in the proposal. The resolution is scheduled to be on the October agenda for
commission approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is necessary to amend the
Budget, as set forth in Exhibit "A", based upon the review and analysis provided by the Finance
Director.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part by this Ordinance
upon adoption hereof.
Section 2. Budget Amendment. The Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 adopted by
Ordinance No. 2024-618 is hereby amended as Amendment No. BA2425-01 to reflect the
revisions in Exhibit "A". All other terms and conditions of Ordinance No. 2024-618 not
otherwise amended by this Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to take all
actions necessary to implement the terms and conditions of this Ordinance.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be effective ten (10) days after adoption on
second reading.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Ordinance.
REASONS:
This budget amendment is necessary to record the following transactions:
1. Allocate an additional $171,735 for the Government Center Solar Improvements project as
outlined in the proposal. The resolution is scheduled to be on the October agenda for commission
approval.
2. Allocate an additional $700,000 for the Intracoastal Sports Park project as outlined in the
proposal. The resolution is scheduled to be on the October agenda for commission approval.
