A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE ORDER TO ORACLE
ELEVATOR COMPANY TO PROVIDE CITY-WIDE ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE
SERVICES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
AND NO CENTS ($65,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 23, 2023, the City Manager of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the
"City") executed an Agreement with Oracle Elevator Company (the "Contractor") to provide City-
wide elevator maintenance services (the "Original Services"), in an amount not to exceed
$30,600.00; and
WHEREAS, the elevators located at Gateway Park were in need of emergency repairs
affecting the safety of its visitors; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor submitted a quote to perform the emergency repairs, in an
amount not to exceed $24,132.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager authorized the issuance of a purchase order to the
Contractor to perform the necessary emergency repairs; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to ratify the issuance of a purchase; order to the
Contractor to provide the Original Services and perform the emergency repairs, in an amount not
to exceed Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($65,000.00), which includes a contingency
in the amount of Ten Thousand Two Hundred Sixty -Eight Dollars and No Cents ($10,2168.00),
attached here to as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratification of Purchase Order. The City Commission hereby ratifies the issuance
of a purchase order to Oracle Elevator Company to provide City-wide elevator maintenance
services and emergency repairs to the elevators located at Gateway Park, in an amount not to
exceed Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($65,000.00), which includes a contingency in
the amount of Ten Thousand Two Hundred Sixty -Eight Dollars and No Cents ($10,2168.00),
attached here to as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

RE: Ratifying Issuance of a Purchase Order to Oracle Elevator Company for
Citywide Elevator Maintenance Services
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
The City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to ratify the Agreement with the Oracle Elevator Company to
provide City -Wide elevator maintenance services.
In February of 2023, the City entered into an agreement with Oracle Elevator Company to provide City -
Wide elevator maintenance services. The equipment to be maintained are 3 elevators at the
Government Center, 1 elevator at Pelican Community Park, 2 elevators at Heritage Park parking garage
and 2 elevators at Gateway Park parking garage, for a total of 8 elevators. Oracle was originally procured
via 3 quotes. The original purchase order was for $30,600.00, which included a $15,000.00 contingency,
forthe preventative maintenance program and annual safetytesting.
Oracle Elevator Company also performs repairs to the elevators and recently needed to replace the

damaged board and brake module on one of the Gateway Park elevators. The emergency repair quote
was for $24,132.00 thus exceeding the formal procurement threshold.
The City is requesting to ratify the purchase order total of $54,732.00, including a contingency in the
amount of $10,268.00, for any unforeseen emergencies, for a grand total of $65,000.00.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Furthermore, the City released a formal Request for Proposal for Citywide Elevator Maintenance and
Repairs on December 10, 2024. The proposals are due January 13, 2025 by 11:00 AM. The City will place
the Intent to Award the RFP on February 2025 Commission agenda.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds have been appropriated in the following Accounts: #001-5-5391-446003-15000, #001-5-5391-
446003-35000, #001-5-5391-446003-60000, #001-5-5391-446003-00000.
