Home My WebLink AboutReso 2025-3847RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - _j+ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) FORD F150s AND ONE (1) FORD EXPLORER FROM BARTOW FORD, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SIX THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED ELEVEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY-SEVEN CENTS ($176,811.57), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on September 121h, 2024, via Ordinance No. 2024-618, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") adopted the Operating and Capital Improvement Budget for the Fiscal Year Commencing October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025 ("Adopted Budget"); and WHEREAS, the City's Police Department is in need of purchasing two (2) Ford F150 Trucks and one (1) Ford Explorer (collectively the "Vehicles"); and WHEREAS, the purchase of the Vehicles is included in the Adopted Budget; and WHEREAS, Bartow Ford (the "Vendor") has the Vehicles readily available for purchase; and WHEREAS, the purchase of the Vehicles will be made utilizing Charlotte County Contract No. 2021000541; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13 (C) of the City's Code of Ordinances, purchases made under state general service administration contracts, federal, county or other governmental contracts or competitive bids with other governmental agencies are exempt from the City's competitive bidding requirements; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to expend budgeted funds for the purchase of the Vehicles from the Vendor, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Seventy -Six Thousand Eight Hundred Eleven Dollars and Fifty -Seven Cents ($176,811.57), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of the Vehicles from the Vendor, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Seventy -Six Thousand Eight Hundred Eleven Dollars and Fifty -Seven Cents ($176,811.57), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. @BCL@A017950A Page 1 of 2 155 Section 3. Effective Date. REASONS: The Police Department is seeking approval to purchase three police vehicles with money allocated from a previous budget amendment in anticipation of a potential increase in price. The three vehicles are two (2) 2025 Ford F150s and one (1) unmarked Explorer. The F150s will be used by Patrol Division Sergeants and the unmarked Explorer by the Administrative Division Sergeant. The cost of the two (2) F150s will be $117,771.50 ($58,885.75 x2) and the cost of the Explorer will be $59,040.07. The two F150s are being purchased via Charlotte County contract 2021000541 & the unmarked Explorer is being purchased via Pasco County County contract I FB -RR -21-042. All three vehicles will be bought from Bartow Ford for an amount not to exceed $176,811.57. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds have been appropriated in account no. 001-3-5210-464200-00000.
