RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - � tv Z. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, COMMEMORATING JEWISH SOLIDARITY DAY AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH; PROVIDING THATJEWISH SOLIDARITY DAY SHALL BE <br />RECOGNIZED ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF MAY ANNUALLY THROUGH THE ISSUANCE <br />OF A PROCLAMATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") is home to a vibrant and diverse <br />population that includes a significant Jewish community whose history, values, and contributions <br />have helped shape the cultural, civic, and economic life of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, Jewish Solidarity Day is intended to honor the heritage, achievements, and <br />ongoing contributions of the Jewish people, and to reaffirm the City's commitment to standing in <br />solidarity with the Jewish community in the face of antisemitism, hate, and discrimination; and <br />WHEREAS, the observance of Jewish Solidarity Day serves as a vital reminder of the <br />importance of tolerance, education, and unity in fostering an inclusive and respectful community <br />for all people; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to formally recognize Jewish Solidarity Day on the <br />first Sunday of May annually through a ceremonial proclamation issued in accordance with the <br />established procedures of Chapter 4 of the City's Code of Ordinances "Special Recognitions". <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Recognition of Jewish Solidarity Day. The City Commission hereby recognizes Jewish <br />Solidarity Day as a special day in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution, including assigning a line item in the <br />City's annual budget. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
