A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING THE
AUGUST 21, 2025, AS TZIPPI HOLAND DAY IN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") recognizes
individuals whose lives reflect courage, compassion, resilience, and exceptional service to
humanity; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Tzippi Holand, a long-standing resident of Sunny Isles Beach, is a
Holocaust survivor whose personal journey from adversity to advocacy has inspired thousands
through her memoir My Treasure Box, educational lectures, and philanthropic work; and
WHEREAS, her impactful contributions include support for children with special needs,
cancer patients, hospitals, young soldiers, families in need, and community organizations across
the nation; and
WHEREAS, her efforts reflect the values of justice, humility, dignity, and hope that uplift
and strengthen the fabric of our society; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to formally acknowledge and celebrate Mrs.
Holand's contributions by issuing an official proclamation in her honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamation. The City Commission hereby approves the
issuance of a proclamation recognizing August 21, 2025, as Tzippi Holand Day in the City.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Proclamation
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City') takes immense pride in
recognizing individuals whose lives exemplify courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the
betterment of humanity; and
WHEREAS, Tzippi Holand, born into the darkness of a labor camp in Siberia during the Holocaust, has
transformed personal tragedy into a lifelong mission of healing, education, and service, becoming a
beacon of hope and resilience for all; and
WHEREAS, through lectures, writings, and tireless advocacy, Mrs. Holand has devoted her life to
ensuring that the lessons of the past remain alive in the hearts and minds offuture generations, reminding
us all of our shared responsibility to remember, to speak out, and to uplift; and
WHEREAS, her memoir, My Treasure Box, serves not only as a personal account of survival, but as a
profound call to build a more compassionate and just world; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Holand's philanthropic endeavors, which include supporting children with special
needs, families facing hardship, cancer patients, hospitals, young soldiers, and diverse community
initiatives, embody a rare and selfless generosity, offering dignity, hope, and support to those most in
need; and
WHEREAS, as a resident of the City for more than twenty years, Mrs. Holand has enriched the fabric of
our community with quiet determination and deep care, never seeking recognition but leaving behind a
legacy of love and empathy.
NOW, THEREFORE, DO I, Larisa Svechin, as Mayor, and on behalf of the City Commission of the City of
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, hereby proclaim August 21, 2025, as "Tzippi Holand Day" in the City of
Sunny Isles Beach.
Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my signature and affixed the great seal of the City of Sunny
Isles Beach.

This resolution is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
This resolution is presented to honor and recognize longtime resident Tzippi Holand and extraordinary
life. Born in a Holocaust labor camp in Siberia and rising to become a powerful voice for compassion,
education, and philanthropy, Mrs. Holand has dedicated decades to sharing her story and uplifting
others through public speaking, literary work, and charitable endeavors. Her selfless service and
commitment to humanity reflect the highest values of this City, and the proclamation serves as a tribute
to her enduring legacy and positive impact within our community.
