A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF
THE GENERAL ELECTION WHICH WAS HELD ON TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 4, 2014, DECLARING GEORGE "BUD" SCHOLL TO BE
ELECTED AS MAYOR; DECLARING ISAAC AELION TO BE
ELECTED AS COMMISSIONER, SEAT 4; DECLARING JEANETTE
GATTO AS COMMISSIONER, SEAT 2, WHO WAS
AUTOMATICALLY ELECTED, HAVING NO OPPONENTS;
DISCHARGING THE CANVASSING BOARD FOR RUN -OFF
ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach held a General Election on Tuesday, November 4,
2014; and
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County Supervisor of Elections and her staff of officials served
as Canvassing Board for the November 4, 2014 General Election; and
WHEREAS, the Canvassing Board met on November 4, 2014, and proceeded to publicly
canvass the votes cast for the candidates in the General Election and certified the General Election
results; and
WHEREAS, City Resolution No. 2014 -2262, designated Emanuel Pine to be the registered
voter to serve on the Canvassing Board with the City Manager and City Clerk, in the event a Run -Off
Election was needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Acceptance of Results of General Election. The City Commission of the City of
Sunny Isles Beach hereby accepts the results of the General Election held on November 4, 2014, as
follows:
For MAYOR, the whole numbers of votes cast was 2,798, of which number
GEORGE `BUD" SCHOLL received 1,489 votes
LEWIS J. THALER received 1. 309 votes
For RESIDENTIAL AREA COMMISSIONER -- SEAT 4, the whole numbers of votes
cast was 2,961, of which number
ISAAC AELION received 1,654 votes
ROBERTO "ROB" RODRIGUEZ received 1307 votes

Section 2. Discharge of the Canvassing Board. The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles
Beach hereby discharges the Canvassing Board being Emanuel Pine, Member; City Manager
Christopher J. Russo, Member; and City Clerk Jane A. Hines, Chairperson, as the City of Sunny Isles
Beach's Canvassing Board for the Run -Off Election that was not needed.
Section 1. Installation of New Officers. The City Clerk will administer the oath to George
"Bud" Scholl as Mayor, Isaac Aelion as City Commissioner, and to Jeanette Gatto as City
Commissioner, the new officers will be installed at a Special City Commission Meeting on
December 2, 2014, and shall enter upon the discharge of their duties, effective thirty (30) days after
the General Election. December 4. 2014.
Section 4. Effective Date. This resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20' day of November 2014.

PENELOPE TOWNSLEY, Supervisor of Elections, Member,. CARLOS GUZMAN, County Judge,
Alternate Member, constituting the Board of County Canvassers in and for said County, do hereby certify
that we met on the Fourteenth day of November, 2014 A.D., andproceeded publicly to canvass the votes
given for the offices and persons herein specified at the City of Sunny Isles Beach General Election
held on the Fourth day of November, 2014 A.D., as shown by the returin on file in the office of the

RE: Resolution Accepting the Results of the General
Election Held on November 4. 2014
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the
results of the General Election held on November 4. 2014.
REASONS:
A General Election was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, for the
Mayor's seat and Residential Area Commissioner Seat 4. This
Resolution accepts the results of the General Election declaring
George "Bud" Scholl as Mayor, Isaac Aelion as Residential Area
Commissioner Seat 4, and it declares Jeanette Gatto as Residential
Commissioner Seat 2 who was automatically elected having no
opponents. It also discharges the Canvassing Board for the Run -Off
Election that was not needed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The newly elected officials will be installed at a Special City
Commission Meeting scheduled on Tuesday, December 2, 2014
beginning at 6:30 p.m.
