QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

SUBJECT: ADDENDUM NO. 2
PLEASE NOTE RECEIPT OF THIS ADDENDUM BY COMPLETING ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ADDENDA’ WITH YOUR PROPOSAL’S SUBMISSION.
Q1. If the ultimate goal is to provide an amazing and flawless skating experience, should real ice be chosen over synthetic alternatives—or are there other factors that might make synthetic
ice a necessary consideration?
A1. While real ice works to achieve the goal of a one-of-a-kind experience, it is understood that this requires additional resources and logistics that may reduce feasibility. If you
have a solution to address those issues, you are welcome to propose that in detail and it would be considered if it works logistically.
Q2. Given the capital expenditures involved and our goal of creating a multi-experience winter village, would it be possible to extend the event duration to an eight-week timeframe?
A2. Ideally, the installation remains at six weeks as the park needs to be turned over for public use and the next season of programs. This also aligns with the installation of the holiday
décor at the park. However, overall schedules can be negotiated with the City. Please detail why this would be needed and how it works with the overall concept of your proposal (i.e.
most patrons are not looking for holiday themed experiences after the first week of January).
Q3. Since it's traditional in many cities around the world—including New York—to celebrate on December 31st, would it be a good idea to highlight the clock countdown at midnight to ring
in the New Year.
A3. We would not want to make this a destination for New Year’s Eve. As a small city, PD and Code resources are spread thin on key holidays, and we would not want to add to their needs.
With that, overarching cultural themes can be incorporated to develop a diverse and inclusive celebration of the holiday season.
Q4. For the installation of the village, is a period of 7 to 10 days possible?
A4. While we would like to limit the impact of park closures, we understand that it is needed given the scale of the project. Installation timelines would be negotiated with parameters
set by the City. Please ensure that your proposal details what your timelines would require for installation through strike.
