HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2025-3920RESOLUTION NO. 2025 -2-Q A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING NOVEMBER 16, 2025, AS UNESCO INTERNATIONAL DAY OF TOLERANCE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the UNESCO International Day of Tolerance, observed annually on November 16, promotes respect, understanding, and appreciation for the rich diversity of cultures, beliefs, and perspectives around the world; and WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") is committed to fostering an inclusive and harmonious community where empathy, dialogue, and mutual respect are actively encouraged; and WHEREAS, recognizing this day aligns with the City's values of civic engagement, cultural awareness, and peaceful coexistence among its residents; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to issue a proclamation to commemorate the UNESCO International Day of Tolerance, and to reaffirm the City's dedication to these principles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamation. The City Commission hereby approves the issuance of a proclamation recognizing November 16, 2025, as UNESCO International Day of Tolerance in the City. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption. NOW, THEREFORE, DO I, Larisa Svechin, as Mayor, and on behalf of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, hereby proclaim November 16th, 2023, as "International Day of Tolerance " in the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
