A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE SCHEDULE OF REGULAR CITY COMMISSION
MEETINGS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2026; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission for the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to establish a
schedule of City Commission meetings for calendar year 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Approval of 2026 Schedule of Commission Meetings. The schedule for City
Commission meetings for calendar year 2026 shall be as set forth herein.

MEMORANDUM

RE: Approving the Schedule of Regular City Commission Meetings for Calendar
Year 2026
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
This Resolution sets the schedule of Regular City Commission meetings for calendar year 2025.
Pursuant to Chapter 74 of the City's Code, meetings are generally held at 6:30 p.m. on the third
Thursday of each month, with the exception of the recess month.
Additionally, in previous years and whenever possible, the City has made efforts to avoid scheduling its
meetings on days that fall on major religious holidays. In 2026, the Jewish holiday of Shavout will
commence on May 21 (third Thursday of May). Out of respect and consideration for the City's large
Jewish community, its proposed that May's Regular City Commission Meeting be held on Thursday, May
14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This schedule is for the regular monthly meetings of the City Commission. City Commission workshops,
special and emergency meetings may be scheduled as needed at the request of the Mayor, City
Manager, the City Attorney, the City Clerk, or a majority of the City Commission, provided appropriate
notice is given pursuant to Florida Statutes and Chapter 74 of the City's Code.
