HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2026-3951RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING MARCH 8, 2026, AS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, International Women's Day is observed annually on March 8 to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to recognize their vital contributions to communities, governments, and societies worldwide; and WHEREAS, International Women's Day also serves as a global call to action to advance gender equality, promote women's empowerment, and address ongoing challenges faced by women and girls; and WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, and is committed to fostering a community in which all individuals are respected, supported, and empowered to succeed; and WHEREAS, women play an essential role in the civic, professional, cultural, and family life of the City, contributing to its growth, resilience, and quality of life; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to issue a proclamation recognizing March 8, 2026, as International Women's Day in the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamation. The City Commission hereby approves the issuance of a proclamation recognizing March 8, 2026, as International Women's Day in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption. NOW THEREFORE, DOI, Larisa Svechin, as Mayor, and on behalf of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, hereby proclaim March 8, 2026, as "International Women's Day" in the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
