FOR THE PURCHASE OF PICNIC TABLES AND PARK BENCHES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY-FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-SEVEN DOLLARS AND EIGHTY-FIVE CENTS ($74,897.85); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City') is in need of purchasing nine (9) Escofet Grasshopper picnic tables and twenty-one (21) Escofet Grasshopper benches (the "Furnishings") to replace the existing metal picnic tables and benches located at Samson Oceanfront Park ("SOP"); and WHEREAS, Landscape Forms, Inc. (the "Vendor") has advised City staff of their contract with OMNIA Partners ("OMNIA"), a cooperative agency of certified public procurement professionals; and WHEREAS, the Vendor has provided the City with a quote for the Furnishings, utilizing the same pricing under OMNIA Contract No. 07-100; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13(I) of the City's Code of Ordinances, "Purchases made through intergovernmental cooperative purchasing arrangements or purchasing consortiums organized as a corporation not for profit whose members are governmental entities, provided that such cooperative purchasing arrangements or consortiums provide for a competitive process to select a vendor," are' exempt from competitive bidding requirements; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the expenditure of budgeted funds with the Vendor for the purchase of the Furnishings, in an amount not to exceed Seventy -Four Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety -Seven Dollars and Eighty -Five Cents ($74,897.85). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Expenditure of Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby approves the expenditure of budgeted funds with the Vendor for the purchase of the Furnishings, in an amount not to exceed Seventy -Four Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety -Seven Dollars and Eighty - Five Cents ($74,897.85). Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. REASONS: The Cultural & Community Services Department is seeking approval to purchase nine (9) Escofet Grasshopper picnic tables and twenty-one (21) Escofet Grasshopper benches from Landscape Forms piggybacking Omnia Contract #07-100. This purchase will replace the current metal picnic tables and benches located in Samson Oceanfront Park. As these tables and benches are made of concrete, not metal like our current furnishings, they will better withstand the oceanfront environment requiring less intensive preventative maintenance. This product line, Escofet, is the same as the concrete seating inside the green space at Samson Oceanfront Park. The total not to exceed amount of this procurement, including shipping and handling, is $74,897.85. The quote has a 6% discount applied to it, which exceeds OM N IA's contracted discount of 5%, which reflects a $6,000 savings. These items have been budgeted as capital items in the FY25/26 budget. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The product sheet is attached to this resolution. C urrent estimated manufacturing lead time is 15-17 weeks.
