A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES
BEACH, FLORIDA, ACKNOWLEDGING THE FOURTH ANNIVERSARY OF RUSSIA'S
FURTHER INVASION OF UKRAINE AND EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE PEOPLE
OF UKRAINE; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT COPIES OF THIS
RESOLUTION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a full-scale,
unprovoked, and illegal invasion of Ukraine, following its illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014
and occupation of parts of the Donbas region; and
WHEREAS, the international community recognizes the sovereignty and full territorial
integrity of Ukraine within its 1991 borders; and
WHEREAS, the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the people of Ukraine have demonstrated
determined resistance in defense of their country; and
WHEREAS, February 24, 2026, marks the fourth anniversary of the Russian Federation's
full-scale, unprovoked, and illegal invasion of Ukraine, a conflict that has continued to threaten
international peace and security and undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of
Ukraine; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to acknowledge
the Fourth Anniversary of Russia's further invasion of Ukraine and expresses its support for the
people of Ukraine.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Acknowledgment and Support. The City. Commission hereby acknowledges the
fourth anniversary of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and expresses its
continued support for the people of Ukraine.
Section 2. Direction to the City Clerk. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of
this Resolution.
Section 3. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do
all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

REASONS:
The attached Resolution acknowledges February 24, 2026, as the fourth anniversary of the Russian
Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and expresses the City Commission's continued solidarity
with and support forthe people of Ukraine.
