A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, APPROVING A SPONSORSHIP DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) TO PELICAN HARBOR SEABIRD STATION, INC.
IN SUPPORT OF THE 2026 PELICAN PARTY GALA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DISBURSE SUCH FUNDS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. ("Pelican Harbor") is a nonprofit 501(c)(3)
organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick, injured, and orphaned
brown pelicans, seabirds, and other native wildlife in South Florida; and
WHEREAS, Pelican Harbor provides vital services to the community including wildlife
rescue, medical care for injured animals, environmental education programs, and community
engagement initiatives promoting wildlife conservation; and
WHEREAS, Pelican Harbor operates primarily through donations and community support
and treats thousands of native wildlife patients each year; And
WHEREAS, Pelican Harbor will host its annual Pelican Party Gala in 2026 to raise funds to
support its wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and education programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") finds that
supporting organizations dedicated to environmental stewardship, wildlife conservation, and
public education provides a benefit to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to support Pelican Harbor by providing a
sponsorship donation in the amount of Two Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($2,000.00) in
support of the 2026 Pelican Party Gala.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorizing the Sponsorship Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the
sponsorship donation in an amount not to exceed Two Thousand Dollars and No Cents
($2,000.00) to Pelican Harbor.
Section 2. Authority of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
