RE: Approval of the Issuance of a Purchase Order to SUNCOM for
Telecommunication Services and Products
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
To extend Communications with the State of Florida DMS in the amount of $100,000.00 for Citywide
Projects that include Telecommunication services and General Products.
The City intends to award a Purchase Order to Suncom, utilizing the Telecommunications Infrastructure
Project Services 3, RFP-13126 with the State of Florida. TIPS-3 utilizes the master contract to manage
all cabling infrastructure projects. TI PS-3 complies with Florida Statutes, the National Electric Code, TIA
standards and BICSI requirements. The TIPS-3 contract is a multi -vendor contract to provide a
competitive vehicle for SUNCOM customers to achieve the greatest cost savings. The IT Department
utilized the state's bid portal to obtain multiple quotes from contracted vendors to ensure the biggest
savings for our wiring projects throughout the City.
