RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - �� <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING <br />APRIL 18, 2026, AS AUTISM SOCCER DAY; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO <br />TRANSMIT COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, Autism Soccer is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing children and <br />young adults on the autism spectrum with opportunities to learn and play soccer in a supportive <br />and inclusive environment; and <br />WHEREAS, Autism Soccer promotes physical activity, social interaction, teamwork, and <br />skill development for individuals with autism, while fostering a sense of community and <br />belonging; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") recognizes <br />the importance of inclusive recreational programs that enhance the quality of life for all <br />residents and support families within the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Autism Soccer Day serves to raise awareness of autism and highlight the <br />positive impact of adaptive sports programs in empowering individuals of all abilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to recognize April 18, 2026, as Autism Soccer Day <br />and encourage residents to support and participate in activities that promote inclusion and <br />awareness. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamation. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />issuance of a proclamation recognizing April 18, 2026, as Autism Soccer Day in the City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach. <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
