A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH PROPOSED AD VALOREM TAX MILLAGE LEVY RATE
AT 1.6514 MILLS PER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) OF TAXABLE
ASSESSED VALUE WHICH IS EQUALTO THE "ROLLED BACK" RATE OF 1.6514 MILLS,
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027; SETTING THE DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR THE FIRST
AND SECOND PUBLIC BUDGET HEARINGS AS REQUIRED BY LAW; DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK AND CITY MANAGER TO FILE THIS RESOLUTION WITH THE PROPERTY
APPRAISER OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PURSUANT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF
FLORIDA STATUTES AND THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
REVENUE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser of Miami -Dade County, Florida, served upon the City of
Sunny Isles Beach a "Certification of 2026 Taxable Value"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 200.065, Florida Statutes, the City of Sunny Isles Beach will
furnish the County Property Appraiser the proposed ad valorem tax millage rate, and the date,
time, and place at which public hearings will be held to consider the proposed millage rate and
tentative budget for Fiscal Year 2026/2027; and
WHEREAS, the Commission agrees to establish the proposed ad valorem tax millage levy
rate at 1.6514 mills per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) of taxable assessed value.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Establish the Proposed Millage Rate. The proposed ad valorem tax millage rate is
hereby established as 1.6514 mills per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) of assessed property
value in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The proposed millage reflected is equal to the "rolled back"
rate of 1.6514 mills, for Fiscal Year 2026/2027.
Section 2. Setting the Public Hearings. The date, time, and place of the first and second public
hearings are hereby set by the City Commission as follows:

Section 3. Transmittal. The City Clerk and City Manager are directed to attach the original
Certification of Taxable Valuable to a certified copy of this Resolution and serve the same upon the
Property Appraiser of Miami -Dade County on or before August 4, 2026.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RE: Establish the Ad Valorem Tax Millage Rate for Fiscal Year 2026-2027
RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented for consideration by the City Commission.
REASONS:
In accordance with Section 200.065, F.S., the City received the July 1 Certification of 2026 Taxable
Value. The City must now establish a proposed millage rate and the date, time, and place at which the
public hearing will be held to consider the proposed millage rate and tentative budget to be forwarded
to the Miami -Dade County Property Appraiser's Office.
