HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2026-4061RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - 0 6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH TENTATIVE AD VALOREM TAX MILLAGE LEVY RATE OF 1.6514 MILLS PER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) OF TAXABLE ASSESSED VALUE WHICH IS EQUAL TO THE "ROLLED BACK" RATE OF 1.6514 MILLS, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Property Appraiser of Miami -Dade County, Florida ("County Property Appraiser"), served upon the City of Sunny Isles Beach a "Certification of 2026 Taxable Value"; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 200.065, F.S., the City of Sunny Isles Beach furnished the County Property Appraiser the proposed millage rate, and the date, time and place at which public hearings will be held to consider the tentative millage rate and tentative budget; and WHEREAS, the City Commission agrees to establish the tentative ad valorem tax millage levy rate at 1.6514 mills per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) of taxable assessed value. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Adopt the Tentative Millage Rate. The tentative millage rate is hereby adopted as 1.6514 mills per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) of assessed property value in the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The proposed millage is equal to the "rolled back" rate of 1.6514 mills, for Fiscal Year 2026/2027. Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption. REASONS: In accordance with Section 200.065, Florida Statutes, the City Commission is required to adopt a tentative millage rate following a public hearing. The proposed tentative millage rate is 1.6514 mills, which is equal to the rolled -back rate for Fiscal Year 2026/2027. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The second public hearing to consider adoption of the final millage rate and the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Operating and Capital Improvement Budget is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. ATTACHMENTS: Resolution Item Number: 3.A 3
