SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS 2A. Presentation on Emergency Response by Miami -Dade County Fire & Rescue Department. Action: Mayor Svechin read the title and presented Chief Shanty Hall and Chief Cardesa from Miami -Dade Fire Rescue to reported. 2B. Police Department Promotions. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and Chief Edward Santiago reported. 2C. Proclamation for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and Mayor Svechin reported. 2D. Proclamation for Day of Remembrance of the October 7 Massacre and Subsequent Gaza War. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and Commissioner Stuyvesant reported. 2E. SKIPPED: Certificates of Appreciation Presented to SIB Gymnastics Team. 3. DISCUSSION ITEMS 3A. Norman S. Edelcup/Sunny Isles Beach K-8 School Facilities & Use Request. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and Deputy City Manager Susan Simpson Summary Minutes: Commission Workshop Meeting August 15, 2024 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida reported. 3B. Discussion re: Charter School. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and City Manager Stan Morris reported. 3C. Discussion Regarding Monthly Progress Reports. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and Commissioner Joseph reported. Commissioner Joseph asked City Manager Stan Morris about the progress with Heritage Park including Capital Improvement Projects, Central Island Projects that should be moving forward. 3D. Discussion Regarding Increased Compliance of the "Motorized Scooter" Ordinance. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and Commissioner Joseph reported and is concerned about the safety issues, although we give out helmets for free, we need to put out more information and enforcement. 3E. Discussion re: Additional Speed Humps in Golden Shores. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and Commissioner Joseph reported. City Manager Stan Morris will continue to do a speed study and research on the speed humps, there's a process that needs to be followed by Dade County. 3F. Discussion re: a Ride Share/Microtransit Solution. Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title and Commissioner Stuyvesant presented the Company to present Sunnyflex ride share services. 4.
