CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Svechin at 3:00 p.m. with the following officials
present:

2. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS

2A. Legislative Updates by Senator Pizzo.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Senator Pizzo reported.
[Clerk's note: Change of order by Commissioner Joseph, 2H was heard after 2A]
2B. Miami -Dade Fire Department Annual Report.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Fire Chief Raied Jadallah
presented.
*Mayor asked if State Representative Fabian Basabi come up to say a few words and
gifted the City a book called The Jewish Book of Knowledge to go in our library.
2C. MDC Fire Department Recognition — Certificate of Achievement.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Mayor Svechin reported.
2D. FY2022-2023 Audit Presentation.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Finance Director Tiffany Neely
reported. Alex August from Marcum made a brief presentation.
2E. Police Chief's Recognition Award to Teresa Becerra for Autism Awareness Training.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Chief Edward Santiago

2F. Presentation of College Scholarship Awards from City of Sunny Isles Beach.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and City Manager's Assistant
Mayra Aleman reported.
2G. Proclamation Presented for National Safe Boat Week.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Mayor Svechin read the
Proclamation.
2H. Proclamation Presented for Jewish Solidarity Day.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Commissioner Joseph
reported. Miami -Dade County Mayor Cava and all the Rabbi's that were present also
shared a few words.
3. DISCUSSION ITEMS
[Clerk's note: It's 4:30pm and Commission agreed to continue w/ the Agenda]
3A. Discussion re: Additional Speed Humps in Golden Shores.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Commissioner Joseph
reported.
3B. Discussion re: Feasibility of Installation of Fiber Optic Underground Internet Lines.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Commissioner Joseph
reported and asked to defer this item to continue the discussion at next month's
workshop.
3C. Discussion re: Increased Compliance of the "Motorized Scooter" Ordinance.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Commissioner Joseph
reported and brought up some concerns about enforcement.
3D. Discussion re: Feasibility of Creating a Beachwalk with Porous Concrete.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Commissioner Joseph
reported. Deputy City Manager Susan Simpson will give the Commission an updated
report from the consultant and Mayor asked that this company register as a Lobbyist.
3E. Discussion re: Security/Attendant at Pier Park Parking Lot.
Action: City Clerk Mauricio Betancur read the title, and Commissioner Joseph
reported.

Mayor Svechin asked for a motion to adjourn, the meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
