A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING IN-KIND SUPPORT TO
THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF ISRAEL FOR THE "ISRAEL 67Th
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION" EVENT ON APRIL 26, 2015
FOR THE USE OF TWO (2) GENERATORS AND CITY PERSONNEL, IN
AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS (52,500.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION:
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Florida-Israel Friendship League with the Consulate General of Israel
are presenting the "Israel 67th Independence Day Celebration" event at Haulover Park on
Sunday, April 26, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Consulate General of Israel has requested the use of two (2) generators
and City personnel; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is dedicated to supporting this event with an
in-kind donation of free use of two (2) generators, as well as providing City personnel from the
Public Works Department, as well as Police Officers to provide a motorcycle and Marine Patrol
to lead the Boat Parade, in an estimated amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
(52.500.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the donation of in-
kind support to the Consulate General of Israel for the "Israel 67th Independence Day
Celebration" event on Sunday, April 26. 2015 for free use of two (2) generators and City
personnel assisting in this event, in an estimated amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($2,500.00).
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of April 2015.

RECOMMENDATION:
The Resolution is attached for your consideration.
REASONS:
The Florida-Israel Friendship League with Consulate General of Israel
are presenting the "Israel 67th Independence Day Celebration' event
at Haulover Park on Sunday,April 26, 2015. They have requested the
use of one large City generator, one small City generator and City

personnel from Public Works as well as Police Officers to provide a
motorcycle escort and Marine Patrol to lead the Boat Parade. These
in-kind services are estimated to be in an amount of Two Thousand,
Five Hundred Dollars(52,500.00).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
In-Kind support of this event further strengthens our Sister City
relationship with our first Sister City, Netanya Israel.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this item will be covered in the Personnel Expenses of the
Public Works and Police Departments general operating budget.
There are no out of pocket or hard costs associated with approval of
this item.
