A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXPEND UP TO AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($40,000.00) WITH ELITE TENT
COMPANY FOR RENTAL OF TENTS AND SUPPLIES FOR
THE CITY'S PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL EVENTS;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the City often rents large tents,numerous tables,and occasionally some chairs
for programs and special events; and
WHEREAS,on February 13,2012 the City of Sunny Isles Beach opened Bid No. 12-01-05
for a vendor to provide event rides and carnival related equipment rental for the City's special events,
of which three bids were received,and the City awarded the Bid to a pool of vendors which included
Elite Tent Company; and
WHEREAS,for many special events throughout the year,the City is in need of large,sturdy
tents, tables, barricades and other special event supplies and equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City being satisfied with Elite Tent Company desires to utilize this
company for tent and event supply rentals on an as-needed basis; and
WHEREAS,the City Commission wishes to authorize the City Manager to expend up to an
amount not to exceed Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) with Elite Tent Company for rental of
tents and supplies for the City's programs and special events.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Authority. The City Commission hereby approves the authorization to
the City Manager to expend up to an amount not to exceed Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00)
with Elite Tent Company for rental of tents and supplies for the City's programs and special events.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

RE: Authority to Expend Funds to Elite Tent Company
RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented to you for your consideration.
REASONS:
For many special events throughout the year, the City is in need of
large, sturdy tents, tables, barricades and other special event supplies
and equipment. Elite Tent was ranked first with the City as the most
responsible bidder (RFP 12-01-05 V#3499) and the City continues to
contract with them on a per job basis.
The City will utilize Elite Tent on an as-needed basis. The anticipated
amount for all uses, both programs and special events, is not to
exceed$40,000.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds for this item are budgeted for and available in the Special
Events account and in the Athletics budget as needed.
