A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING IN-KIND DONATION
TO NORMAN S. EDELCUP SUNNY ISLES BEACH K-8 FOR ARBOR
DAY ACTIVITIES, IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($1,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION:
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to providing a variety of quality
recreational opportunities to our community; and
WHEREAS, the Norman S. Edelcup Sunny Isles Beach K-8 is dedicated to activities
that benefit the Sunny Isles Beach community; and
WHEREAS, the Norman S. Edelcup Sunny Isles Beach K-8 hosted an Arbor Day
celebration with students and community leaders on Friday, May 15, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach partnered with the school as they have in
years past by providing in-kind support for this outdoor event with tents, chairs, sound system
and podium, in an estimated amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratify Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby ratifies the approval
of the donation of in-kind support for free use of tents, chairs, sound system and podium by the
Norman S. Edelcup Sunny Isles Beach K-8, in an estimated amount of One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00).
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
The Norman S. Edelcup/Sunny Isles Beach K-8 hosted an Arbor Day
celebration with students and community leaders on Friday, May 15,
2015. For this outdoor event they needed tents, chairs, sound system
and podium. The City partnered with the school as they have in years
past by providing these needs.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The estimated value of the in-kind donation is less than$1,000.
FUNDING SOURCE:
No funding is required for this resolution.
