A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE NECESSARY
OFFICE AND OTHER SUPPLIES FROM COSTCO (VN #5493)
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015 -2016, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED FIFTY -FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS (S55,000.00),
SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach currently purchases supplies and equipment;
many of which are purchased from Costco; and
WHEREAS. Costco provides significant discounts on bulk purchases as well as general
discount offers based on membership and prior use; and
WHEREAS. the City wishes to authorize the blanket purchase order for Costco for
supplies and equipment, in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Five Thousand Dollars ($55.000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization to Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes a blanket
purchase order to Costco in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Five Thousand Dollars ($55,000.00).
The City- Manager shall seek additional authority from the City Commission if the S55.000.00 cap
is exceeded.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15'h day of October 15.

Resolution Authorizing City Staff to Create a Blanket
RE:
Purchase Order (BPO) for COSTCO VN #5493, in an
Amount Not to Exceed 555,000.00
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending the City. Commission approve the attached
Resolution.
REASONS:
On October 16.2014 via Resolution No. 2014 -2319. the City Commission
exercised its approval on a blanket purchase order for supplies and equipment
citywide to COSTCO VN- 5493 in an amount not to exceed ($50.0000.00)
Fifty Thousand Dollars. This blanket purchase order 11as available to all
departments.
For FY 15/16 staff is recommending the City Commission approve a new
Blanket Purchase Order (BPO) to COSTCO VNz 5493 in an amount not to
exceed Fifty -Five Thousand Dollars (555,000.00). COSTCO provides
significant discounts on bulk purchases as well as general discounts offers
based on membership and prior use. A 100/ contingency has been figured
into the forecasted amount based on increased volume of purchases citywide.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The City Manager shall seek additional approval from the City
Commission if the $55,000.00 cap is exceeded.
